Rehearsal

On Thursday the 27th December, we climbed a mountain to do a rehearsal at the Bikini test. The famous hall of la Chaux-de-Fonds welcomed us for our first stage experience for ten years.

We want to thank the bikini test team for this opportunity. Despite some computer issues (Protools 7.4 & my laptop, a true love story), we were able to play live in real conditions and learned a lot during this day.

Thierry, Pascal and Nicolas from Damp Music, our label, were there too. They managed sound, lights and took photos and video. We really enjoyed their support and are now ready to play for real.

Last Friday, we went back to the studio. It wasn’t to record new songs but to make a music clip of one of our songs. The idea was to extract pictures for the CD booklet and promotional stuff.

Our label team transformed the recording room into a movie studio. Vanaëlle of l’Atelier Rouge Vernis applied Valérie’s makeup.

We played the same song 20 times live and after that and week of work, we were dead but happy.

After the recording, we had to find visuals for the album cover and the booklet. It’s really hard tasks for guys who like sound, isn’t it. But we are very lucky because a friend of ours, Till Rabus, a very talented contemporary artist has given us the right to use one of his pictures. You can see his work on his website http://www.tillrabus.ch. The chosen picture comes from a collection which mixes holiday photos found on the internet and folkloric tools. Till mixes the pictures on computer and then paints them with oil paint and the result is very good.

Thierry from Damp production is working on our new logo. We are waiting for the result of his labor.I think our disc and our mp3 embedded picture will be very nice. And we, the musicians, we just need to work hard to play well on stage.

Album's done !

We have finished the recording session. The twelve songs are mixed and the mastering will begin soon. It took one year but only 13 days in studio to produce this amazing result.
We are happy to achieve it but the studio sessions were really enjoyable with sometimes metaphysical discussions.

Now, we're looking for a place to film our live concert because we want to produce a DVD of a life performance. We may have the opportunity to do the shooting at the Neuchatel concert hall or in the abc theater at la Chaux-de-fonds. This is needed to land contracts for concerts. In the past an analog tape was enough to be taken on. It was so 20th century…

But it's true that the visual is a very important part of a live performance. We watch a lot of live performances on YouTube to inspire us. There are musicians who must eat special food to be able to jump, run and play their instrument…

We also wanna show some videos during our concerts, because we are three and the goal is to fill the stage.
